JAN-PRO Cleaning & Disinfecting is working to help eligible members of its franchise community meet that challenge through the JAN-PRO Your Family First Scholarship™ Program.
The annual scholarship program provides financial assistance to eligible JAN-PRO franchise owners and their families who plan to continue their education at an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school.
Administered by Scholarship America®, the 2026 program offers awards of $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000. Applications are being accepted through September 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. CT.
What Is the JAN-PRO Your Family First Scholarship?
The Your Family First Scholarship was established by JAN-PRO Cleaning & Disinfecting and JAN-PRO Commercial Cleaning to support the educational goals of its franchise community.
The program is available to eligible JAN-PRO unit franchise owners, as well as their spouses, dependent children and grandchildren. Scholarships can be used for undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.
For JAN-PRO franchise families in Colorado and across the country, the program provides an opportunity to pursue educational goals while receiving financial support from the organization they are part of.
The scholarship is administered by Scholarship America, which manages scholarship and education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Applicants must meet all of the program’s eligibility requirements.
To qualify for the 2026 Your Family First Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a JAN-PRO Cleaning & Disinfecting or JAN-PRO Commercial Cleaning unit franchise owner, or the spouse, dependent child or grandchild of an eligible unit franchise owner.
- Have a franchise owner who is a Certified Business Owner in good standing for at least one year as of the application deadline.
- Be a high school graduate by July 31, 2026, or currently enrolled as a postsecondary undergraduate or graduate student.
- Plan to enroll in full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate study for the 2027 spring semester.
- Attend an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.
Employees of unit franchisees are not eligible for the program. Regional developers, their spouses and children, as well as regional development employees, are also excluded from eligibility.
Because eligibility is determined according to the program’s official requirements, prospective applicants should review the complete guidelines before submitting an application.
How Much Can Scholarship Recipients Receive?
Selected students will receive one of three award amounts:
- $1,000
- $2,500
- $5,000
The awards are available for both undergraduate and graduate study.
The scholarship is not renewable. However, students who continue to meet the eligibility requirements may reapply in subsequent years.
This gives eligible students an opportunity to seek support again as they continue their educational journey.
How Are Scholarship Recipients Selected?
The Your Family First Scholarship considers more than academic performance alone.
Scholarship America evaluates applicants based on several factors, including:
- Academic record
- Leadership and participation in school and community activities
- Work experience
- Educational and career goals
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
Financial need is also considered, and special consideration is given to applicants who are identified as first-generation students.
This broad selection approach recognizes that educational achievement can take different forms. Academic performance matters, but so do leadership, work experience, community involvement and the circumstances that shape a student’s educational path.
What Documents Do Applicants Need?
Applicants must submit a current, complete transcript of grades electronically. Grade reports are not accepted.
The transcript must include:
- Student name
- School name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and term
Applicants providing SAT or ACT scores that are not included on their high school transcript must also submit a separate copy of their test score report. Those scores are not required when submitting a college transcript.
Applications are not considered complete until all required materials have been submitted electronically.
When Is the 2026 Application Deadline?
The deadline to apply for the 2026 Your Family First Scholarship is:
September 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. CT
Applicants should allow enough time to gather their transcripts and any other required materials before submitting their application.
Applicants will be notified by email in November. Scholarship America recommends using an active personal email address rather than a school or work email address that may become inaccessible later.
Scholarship payments are processed by Scholarship America on behalf of JAN-PRO. Payments are made in one installment in early 2027, with the check made payable to the student’s school and mailed to the recipient’s home address.
