Your startup costs as a regional master franchisor are initially based on a franchise fee of $20,000 per 100,000 population. Your business will not require an inventory, equipment or major-build-out costs. JAN-PRO also provides qualified candidates in-house financing on part of the initial franchise fee. How much does it cost to be a Country Master Franchisor?

Your country master franchise cost will be based on the economic maturity of the country, which includes business counts, GDP and total population. A typical country master franchisor should expect an initial investment between $250,000 and $1 million. You also will need a range of additional start-up and working capital.

How do I find regional master franchisors?

JAN-PRO will provide you with marketing strategies and tools including print, digital, email and radio ads to drive regional master franchisor prospects to you. You also will participate in job fairs and local franchise tradeshows.

What happens if I have customers before I have a regional master franchisor with a unit franchisee?

Generally, you will own and operate your first regional master franchise. You will hire a franchise support person who will be responsible for training new unit franchise owners and following up on their work using our JAN-PRO Tracker® quality assurance system. This employee will need to understand the JAN-PRO systems first-hand, and will clean with a day laborer or unit franchise owner in training before handing off the account.

Do you offer financing?

We offer in-house financing on the initial franchise fee for approved country master franchisor candidates. You will come to our Discovery Day and meet our executive team who will review your franchise application and determine if financing is appropriate.

What does an Ideal Master Franchise Candidate look like?

Most of our country master franchisor candidates come from international business backgrounds and are interested in building large organizations where they can use their sales, marketing and business management skills. Their prior corporate incomes typically exceed $250,000 per year and they are looking to replace and exceed this income level with their next business. They have an average of $1 million net worth and $150,000 liquid cash. Most of them — 62% —have earned graduate degrees. They want to spur economic growth in their countries by giving opportunities to entrepreneurs who want to be a part of a well-known brand.

What kind of support will I receive from the JAN-PRO Support Center?

You will receive two weeks of training at our headquarters in Atlanta before opening. We also will send our international field service director to your country for 10 days after your opening and on request. You will work with one of our field service directors to launch your business through the 4-to-6-week business ramp-up period before coming to the US for training. Once you are open you will have weekly calls with your field service director as needed. We will provide additional webinar training in marketing, operations, accounting, franchise sales and customer sales.

How many regional master franchises can I sell in my market?

This is determined by the number of businesses in your country and the total population. We like to see a minimum of 500,000 population and 5,000 business counts with 5 employees or more per regional master franchise. We will assist you with mapping and planning out the target markets within your country. Each regional master franchisor will have a protected territory. Each regional master franchise can have as many unit franchise owners as they need to support their customer accounts. Some unit franchise owners will be part-time and some will be full-time. Unit franchise owners will have guaranteed revenue and be home based.

When should I break-even?

We are not able to give you an exact break-even because each country is different in the number of regional master franchise they can sell, as well as the maturity of the market. We will provide you a standard chart of accounts to help build your business plan, and you will have the opportunity to speak with other country master franchisors to validate your assumptions and numbers. This discussion happens near the end of our eight-step mutual evaluation process.
